Blue Heron Quilts

I am Kelly Korman, proud owner and quilter of Blue Heron Quilts.

Quilting is a passion project for me. I work full-time as an organic farm and livestock certification specialist, and it is through my work in agriculture that I have come to deeply appreciate materials derived from Earth, including natural dyes. Quilting is what I do in my spare time to embrace my creative flow state and engage with inspiring materials.

I most enjoy working with scraps and bits of cotton, linen, hemp and silk from diverse sources and piecing them together to make original quilts. My favorite pieces are made for those I love to celebrate and honor moments in time.

This website is intended to serve as a documentation of my work as well as an invitation to collaborate if you’d like a one-of-a-kind quilt that we envision together.

I believe quilts represent the best of us. Quilts document our resourcefulness and creativity, cultural traditions and innovations. They perpetuate true craftsmanship in a world of mass production. They are timeless, comforting, personal works of art. Simply, the act of quilting makes me like myself.
